日前曾在版上看到各位大大把 IBM or Seagate等牌的硬碟寄回原廠做維修
或更換的動作，對於長年使用Maxtor硬碟的我來說也想嘗試移下，於是我上了
maxtor的網站去做報修的動作，在確認過程中，得知我的HD到2004年8月才
過保固，滿心歡喜的再做填表的動作，但是在取得RMA number時卻出現了問題，
於是乎寫了一封Email給原廠，但是回答如下...


Dear Customer,

According to our system, the drive is purchased as a whle system from our
OEM customer, Legend Computer.

As this drive was purchased from our OEM account (Legend Computer) all
warranty claims are to be channelled
through the OEM where the drive was purchased. Maxtor will only provide
warranty support for
these drives if the Company is no longer trading and will only cover the
warranty that the unit
was sold to by the OEM account.

All drives that are sold to OEM accounts are not covered under the
Manufacturing warranty,
as these drives were sold to OEM accounts with OEM warranty and hence the
manufacturing warranty
will not be covered.

Kindly approach Legend Computer for direct RMA service.

Pls be informed that online RMA is only applicable to US and European
countries end users.
Customer Service Centre in S'pore will be responsible to support and advise
any end users
from Asia Pacific in regards with the return proceudre.
Pls refrain from creating RMA in Maxtor website in future. Instead, for
replacement of your inwarranty drive,
you should return the unit back to the source where you purchase from. In
case you need Maxtor

也就是說，Maxtor 硬碟，只要在台灣購買，就不要指望如同IBM or Seagate等可以自己
寄回原廠，而要透過建達代理商的剝削.....
唉..............該換牌子了！！！
