要反安裝Direct X之前,請先注意下面事項:
Q: Which DirectX runtime components are going to be uninstalled?
A: Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectInput, DirectMusic, DirectPlay, and - DirectSound... Nothing more, nothing less.
Q: Do I have to launch the uninstaller (dxerad.exe) in "safe-mode"?
A: No.. Just run DXE as you would any other windows application...
Q: Is it necessary to restore DirectX from the windows setup cd after uninstall? I don't have the windows cd-rom...
A: You should always "restore" the shipping version of DirectX from the windows setup cdrom -- regardless of whether or not you choose to install a newer version. In doing so, will protect the system against missing files and other configuration errors... Don't have the windows cd? I suggest you borrow one from a friend.
Q: Is there going to be a DirectX Eradicator for windows xp?
A: Yes, the next scheduled release - 1.09 - will include full support for both XP Home and Pro Editions; see homepage for details.
Q: Do I have to disable System Restore prior to using DXE?
A: Disabling s.r. is not required; however, I strongly recommend it.. In doing so, will prevent s.r. from creating backups in the _restore folder. This can also prevent any further complications should you decide to rollback the system to an earlier state - for windows me only.
Q: I've tried to remove DirectX from M.E., but it doesn't work!
A: If pchealth is installed, you must run sfprot.bat in MS-DOS before using DXE, otherwise SFP will kick-in during uninstall, causing it to fail. The "pchealth" component is installed by "default" on M.E., so unless you've taken the neccessary steps to remove it, the FileList.xml patch must be applied beforehand.
Q: I've uninstalled and restored DirectX - but my std. gaming devices (e.g. joystick) aren't functioning... How can I fix this?
A: Try restarting your computer if you haven't already done so.. If the problem still exists, you'll have to remove and reinstall those devices via the Control Panel add/remove hardware wizard.
