Ian Kennedy left his start Tuesday with what the Yankees termed a slight lat strain.
Kennedy gave up four runs in the second, but he went on to turn in a fine third, which is why it was quite a surprise to see Ross Ohlendorf in to begin the fourth. If Kennedy lands on the DL, it only increases the chances that Joba Chamberlain will get a start before the end of next week. Chamberlain seemed likely to eventually supplant Kennedy anyway.
