NEC MultiSync EX231Wp 23 inch monitor announced

NEC has unveiled a new 23 inch monitor, the MultiSync EX231Wp, targeted at business users.

The 16:9 LED backlit PVA panel has a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 and claimed 178 degrees viewing angles on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

It’s a full HD 1920×1080 resolution monitor, with a brightness level rated at 250 cd/m² and some advanced power management features.

Its power consumption is rated at 27 Watts and a sensor on the front of the unit detects movement and user activity. When this drops off, indicating no one is sat in front of the display, it cuts power usage by 94%.

The EX231Wp also comes with a built-in light sensor which detects levels of ambient lighting and adjusts the brightness of the monitor appropriately.

The MultiSync benefits from a slim design, too, with an ultra-slim bezel, weighing just over 9 pounds including the stand.

Lynn Gu, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions, stated: “The ultra-slim MultiSync EX231Wp was created to give business users more functionality with the ability to easily implement web conferencing, small-scale digital signage, portability in between meetings and simple multi-screen setup.”

“We anticipate our customers travelling with their MultiSync EX231Wp to client meetings or using a mount solution to tile multiple monitors together. The unique capabilities this product presents are unlike anything else in our IT desktop line-up.”

The monitor launches in the US next month with a price of $319, with no details yet revealed on whether it will come to the UK.
