Hootenanny65

This free download contain excerpts from a Hootenanny which occurred in 1965 at the Hillside Ave Junior High School, in Cranford, NJ with a packed house. The night began at around 7:00 PM and lasted until around 11:00 PM with about 15 sets of three numbers performed per folk music group.

Presented here are excerpts from that evening.

Pete Seeger Concert
The concert presented here took place at Willard Straight Hall, Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York. Most likely date is May 16, 1957.
The concert itself takes you back to the early days of the folk music revival. Pete is often joined by the audience members, singing folk music from around the world, and joined by two students, Ellen Stekert and Joel Hendler. Pete talks about Leadbelly and Woody Guthrie from direct experience. He also talks about others, unnamed, from whom he learned songs. It is a delightful concert to listen to.
