It actually depends on who you hang out with during your stay.

I've known a lot of so-call "留學生” could not spew out a grammatically correct sentence of English to save their lives, let alone be a good English speaker.

The funny thing is right after they come back from abroad, their incapability of speaking English suddenly switch to incapability of speaking a whole sentence of Mandarin. snicker....
