windows do not run 5+ programs in the background, rather 5+ processes, all of which are part of the OS. Also, they are idle most of the time anyways.

And yes its quite easy for people using K8 or even K7 to have BT/ED, etc in the background and playing games smoothly. Same goes with having the computer encode/compile stuff while doing other things.

There is something called piority control as part of the Windows OS. Use it well.

And what you are discribing is a non-existent phenomena when using Linux/BSD/Solaris/BeOS, etc. It is an artifact of the MS OS.

以跑UD來說
只要K7-2400Mhz就可以相當囉
K8的話，約2200Mhz就可以平手

P4如果不是c版 , 以E版超上3.6g.......我認為K7的barton 超上`2.5g` 還可以撐的住......但是對上P4強項部份 應該還是很難看吧......
保守估計啦....對E版 , barton可能還不用上到2.5G , 對c版 , 2.5G應該不夠 , 但如果講遊戲的話 , P4就要用c版的了......

K8 我是3000+超上2.2G啦 L2 1M的配上nf3 250gb......如果P4真要超頻來尬K8.......只能說 太吃力了.......另外 , 還有溫度 , 耗電 , 價格 , 損壞率的考慮..........

不過Dothan還不錯 但和目前的754至多是55波(還要考慮有的沒的因素..)........只是時脈若能拉的上去 , 兩強對打就很精采了......

樓主這個問題實在問錯了 , 應該要問 , ``以某一種工作為重 , 在這工作執行下 , K8要買哪一顆效能才能和P4 2.8CG超到3.61G相當? ``.......

買939不就得了,有時候很多東西是不可能如預期的好,但是我相信多花錢就可以了

你真的認為你可以邊抓BT、邊做DVD編碼邊玩游戲還很順?
那你乾脆再加跑Prime95好了
我不知道你指的是哪種遊戲啦 java? Flash?
我只知道我指的是像Doom3、模擬市民2這種要全螢幕且較佔資源的遊戲
而不是那種網路上的小小Flash game
所以也更不可能邊上網邊玩game，那很白痴

我知道你是在舉例，不過你舉的例子都很爛

我是覺得
我玩超頻頂多看一下自己電腦的極限在哪邊而已
很快就會調回來
平常工作幹麻要用到超頻?尤其只有開機在玩p2p的人...
除非你真的每天電腦都在跑影像轉檔等工作或者特殊用途的才需要~

不過樓主說原廠風扇? 2.8cg oc到3.61 待機只有30度?
有點不太相信這麼低溫...

我的k8就可同時做這兩件事還很順,我是用amd k8 opteron 244 x 2
ccc.......大家討論嘛!不須說些讓人不舒服的話.
