This is released only for the purpose of updating the redistributable function of DirectX8.1 for those who are developers and need to include DirectX. It doesn't change anything as far as features or functions from DirectX8.1a.
after installing DX8.1b, the only NEW(updated) file is msyuv.dll---it's listed as created 6/23/2002. I don't know what it does --- all other files listed in DXDIAG are the same as before.
Thanks! According to what I read, this 8.1b is not really an update at all and explains why some people have downloaded it without seeing a change. What a waste of time.

所以，還是別裝吧。

那是指WindowsXP的使用者才會有的安裝失敗現象吧！聽說用其他的MS作業系統就可以完整安裝哦！
而且裡面的檔案都很新，應該不只更新這樣而已吧！
還有8.1a的版本是4.08.01.0810
但是8.1b的版本是4.08.01.0881
看看自己的版本就可以知道有沒有安裝成功囉～
看看裡面的修改日期吧～

忘了問，有人知道在WindowsXP上怎麼裝嗎？

偶的也是0901說...這樣應該算灌成了吧！

可能是微軟發現 6/23 的版本有些問題，所以更新了吧....:o

裝了以後3dmark少了600多分
