As it turns out, AMD confirmed to us that only two of the dies on that substrate have working transistors on them and the other two are simply blank wafer pieces to help with the structural support of the heatspreader! In otherwords, there are two blank, worthess chunks of silicon on the part to keep the top from caving in. AMD用空白晶圓切來當散熱片的結構墊片, 避免崩角 並其中兩粒的工作晶粒以對角排序 英特爾鐵定會做的跟散熱片小一點, 但是製作這麼大的晶粒會很費成本 (而且開蓋會失敗) |
